The rigidity also reduces premature wear and ensures bolt lug alignment to prevent damage. A gas expansion chamber is machined in above the charging handle track combined with dual gas vents to redirect excess gas away from your face. A very simple yet effective change that was made is the reduced size of the forward assist. It has been reprofiled to prevent you from bashing your knuckles when charging the rifle with your right hand.
